Layer Groups for After Effects.

The long wait is over, finally there is a solution to grouping of layers in the timeline in After Effects. Alan Eddie's new script/plugin  allows “Photoshop” style layer groups in the After Effects timeline, mimicking how Photoshop handles layer grouping. Carrying over the same visual paradigm from Photoshop, Layer Groups in After Effects will allow you to expand and collapse groups in the timeline, hide and show visibility for child layers, and even duplicate entire groups with stacking and parenting (relative) intact. Layer Groups acknowledges that many users, especially moving from Photoshop are more comfortable with a grouping system that they are familiar with. The organisation and simplification of complex and heavy compositions will be a big time-saver. It has been one of the most requested features in After Effects.
